Loss of Print Quality is Expensive! |
|
Poor print quality can be caused by a number of things including damage due to dents, scoring and corrosion. While dents and score marks can be permanently repaired by InPress Solutions, corrosion is an ongoing problem. As you know, the progression of corrosion under the print blanket can result in print problems and serious loss of revenue. Cylinder repair and replacement are only temporary solutions for corrosion. Eventually the problem will return to be dealt with again. Rust Sentry is the first real solution. By stopping corrosion from spreading, you can avoid expense and downtime. Most corrosion problems on nickel coated steel cylinders start at the edges of the blanket where the nickel has worn thin. This creates three rust bands on a double-wide press. These bands, though not in the print area when they first appear, will grow wider if left untreated over time. If left to grow, they will all reach the print area more or less simultaneously...first affecting the edges of the printed pages as you can see in the photo. |
